The Nez Perce Tribe's traditional Tamkaliks Celebration at Wallowa, Ore., in July will be called off for the second straight year because of coronavirus concerns, it was announced Friday. The annual Tamkaliks Nez Perce homecoming celebration was held July 19-21 at the Tamkaliks grounds in Wallowa, Oregon. The original Wallowa Band descendents hold this reunion celebration every year on the third weekend of July. The three day celebration is filled with dancing, drumming and friendship and many look forward to it all year. 2024 Tamkaliks » Each July, the Homeland becomes a place of reunion for descendants of the original inhabitants of waláwa, the Wallowa country.
