Danuta Stasik (University of Warsaw), in her study 'A Journey within a Journey: The Imaginary of Home(land) in Bhīṣma Sāhnī's Short Story O Harāmzāde', offers a detailed, contextualized analysis and interpretation of a short story, published in 1978, about an Indian who has migrated to Europe (thus being an example of the so-called My main research interests are: epic traditions in Hindi literature, orature - literature, (Rām)bhakti in North India, history of Hindi literature and literary criticism, the Indian diaspora (particularly as represented in Hindi writing). My single-author books include: "The Infinite Story. The Past and Present of the Rāmāyaṇa Tradition The volume opens with Danuta Stasik's article, 'A Polish Perspective on South Asian Studies,' in which a historical outline of Polish academic interest in South Asia is drawn. This is the only contribution in the whole volume that is not based on a paper read at the conference and has been added as an introduction to the volume. The Danuta Stasik teaches on Hindi literature, culture and society of North India as well as literary theory at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
