Having an orange julep (orange juice x milk hybrid drink-thing?) was in many of the "Top 10 Things to do in Montreal" lists. As a lover of orange juice, I couldn't miss out on this. Orange Julep is both the name of the drink and the restaurant, and has a hilariously iconic large orange demarking the store from miles away. In essence The highlight was the Orange Julep drink, as it was cold, sweet, creamy, and refreshing - I actually really liked it! Staff were friendly, and there is some counter where you can stand and eat; most just pick it up to-go. This roadside attraction is interesting to check out, more to take pictures of the orange-shaped structure. We decided to stop by and see if its famous julep was any good. The Big Orange has been part of the Montreal landscape since 1945, when it was built by Hermas Gibeau next to the highway to advertise the frothy orange beverage he'd been selling since 1932 in downtown Montreal.
