Samir Kouro. , PhD. I was born in Valdivia, Chile, in 1978. I received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria (UTFSM), Valparaíso, Chile, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Since 2007 I have been with the Department of Electronic Engineering (UTFSM), where I currently serve as 1st Chilean university in the area of Engineering, according to U.S.News Best Global Universities ranking In 2007, he joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, UTFSM, where he is currently a Professor. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada. From 2019 to 2021, he was the Director of Innovation and Technology Transfer and, from 2021 to 2022, the General Director of Research, Innovation About UTFSM.
