Opening in 1932, The Seabreeze Restaurant took advantage of the new causeway constructed on 22nd St in 1926 for the massive but failed Tampa Beach project. Located on the east side, close to the water and shrimp docks, it served Spanish and Italian meals that included seafood and Cuban sandwiches. The iconic Seabreeze by the Bay restaurant, famous for its devil crabs, reopened at its new location Monday in a vacant lot at U.S. 301 and Causeway Boulevard.
