Course description: The MSCS program aims to provide both breadth and depth of knowledge in the concepts and techniques related to the theory, design, implementation, and applications of computer systems. Students are required to take courses, which cover advanced topics in theoretical computer science and computer systems. It was established to provide advanced education in Science and Arts, Philosophy, Literature, and Technical training for Filipino students under the Act No. 1870 of the first Philippine Legislature. It has eight constituent universities (Diliman, Los Baños, Manila, Visayas, Open University, Mindanao, Baguio, and Cebu). The BA Sociology program is designed to be completed in four years. It consists of general education courses in the freshmen and sophomore years and coursework in Sociology and related courses in the junior and senior years. Students are expected to complete 140 units of general education and Sociological courses to graduate from the program. The UP Diliman BS Biology program of the College of Science Institute of Biology (IB) received accreditation from the ASEAN University Network (AUN)-Quality Assurance System. The accreditation signifies that the program adheres to the AUN academic standards and is at par with the biology programs of other leading ASEAN universities.
