Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus is the second videogame by Oddworld Inhabitants, released in 1998 after a 9-month production period. Exoddus is a direct sequel to Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, building on its story and gameplay while introducing new elements to the Oddworld universe. Exoddus is not the second entry in the original Oddworld Quintology, instead being marketed as a 'bonus title' that Abe's peaceful retirement was shattered when visited by a vision from the Mudokon Spirit Guides. Abe™ learned the Magog Cartel was mining Necrum, the sacred Mudokon city of the dead, to collect bones to make super-addictive SoulStorm Brew. After freeing the Mudokon spirits imprisoned in the Mudanchee and Mudomo Vaults, Abe gained scary powers from the Spirit Guides, including the ability As part of what could be considered official lore (Dear Alf), Mudokons can climb up rough surfaces, but it dries out their hands, so they can only do it once every few days.. Alf has been known to make jokes/make stuff up in the Dear Alfs (saying Abe is 2/11 Glukkon on his half uncle's side and Brain Slurgs are some examples), so it could be true, but don't fully trust it. Were these done by hand, or did they somehow get their hands on the original sprites? Do have to say that some of the character sprites look a bit uncanny valley. Abe, the Mudokons, Sligs and Scrabs in particular look very out of place against the upscaled background graphics. Still, quite an amazing feat. 4. Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus: Directed by Lorne Lanning.
