L'idea di rifondare l'antica autorità dell'impero romano caratterizzandola nel segno del nuovo credo religioso nacque già all'epoca di Giustiniano per poi crescere al tempo di Carlo Magno e, viva per tutto il medioevo, prese particolare vigore nel X secolo, durante il regno di Ottone III (renovatio Imperii Romanorum). Il potere imperiale, almeno in via di principio, ha un valore Die Gemeinde Schönwalde Glien, direkt am Krämerforst gelegen, setzt sich aus den Gemarkungen Grünefeld, Paaren im Glien, Pausin, Perwenitz, Schönwalde-Dorf, Schönwalde-Siedlung und Wansdorf zusammen. Der Ortsteil Schönwalde-Siedlung liegt in direkter Nachbarschaft zum Berliner Bezirk Spandau und ist seit über 100 Jahren ein beliebtes La renovatio Imperii, cioè il rinnovamento dell'Impero, era l'idea di restaurare il glorioso Impero romano, concepito come regno cristiano.Questo sogno, nato con l'imperatore d'Oriente Giustiniano e sostenuto già da Carlo Magno, fu poi coltivato da Ottone III di Sassonia (Renovatio Imperii romanorum), incoronato imperatore a Roma nel 996.
