Lieko Shiga on Kitakama village and the 2011 tsunami. Lieko Shiga explains why she began photographing Kitakama, a small coastal town in Japan that was destroyed by the tsunami of March 11, 2011. She describes how her series Rasen Kaigan (Spiral Shore) (2008-12) conveys the spirit and history of the community.
