Parke is a beautiful country park on the eastern fringe of Dartmoor National Park.The Parke estate lies on the western edge of Bovey Tracey, and the River Bovey runs through the estate.The country park is based around a historic manor house, now used by both the Dartmoor National Park Authority and the National Trust, who look after the estate. The Parke Estate is on the edge of Bovey Tracey and extends for about a mile up the river valley. A wide variety of walks are available with lots of paths through woodland, pasture, along the river bank and along the former Moretonhampstead branch railway, which latter is now surfaced and open as a cycle path as well as being suitable for disabled access.
