Today, I'll share the results of the 50-yard test of the new Walther LGV Challenger with you. What sets guns like the LGV apart is their out-of-the-box usability. Budget airguns usually require a lot of break-in, learning curve regarding technique, time finding the right pellet, and some even require immediate tinkering to see repeatable accuracy. The LGV Master Ultra still balances nicely, certainly with that barrel-weight in place, and with the weight already at a premium, I can appreciate the designers' dilemma. Spring powered air rifle design is always a compromise after all, and Walther deserve much praise for this venture overall. On The Range. With the LGV Master Ultra, you'll be able to shoot for longer stretches because the physical stress of constant vibration is gone. Barrel latches commonly came on better spring guns, but they went out of style decades ago. Walther brought it back for their LGV series. To cock your air rifle, flip up the barrel latch and then break down the barrel. Walther's original LGV breakbarrel rifle was a match air gun produced in the late '60s and early '70s. It was at the top rung of the ladder when it came to accuracy and workmanship.
