Collingbourne Kingston Collingbourne Kingston is a village and civil parish about 8 miles south of the market town of Marlborough in Wiltshire, England. The village, which is on the A338 primary route between Andover and Marlborough, is one of several on the River Bourne, a seasonal river which is usually dry in summer. The Bells of St Mary's. An inventory of 1553 shows that the Church tower had four bells at that time. In 1614 these original bells, with the addition of new metals were recast in the churchyard to form a ring of five bells by John Wallis of Sarum. The tenor bell was recast in 1695 by Samuel Knight of Reading. This bell was recast again in 1840s AD The Cleaver was renamed the Collingbourne Kingston Inn and later upgraded to Hotel in the 1890s. 1841 AD The highest population for the Village was recorded in the census at 933 inhabitants with 239 in Collingbourne Kingston proper, 166 in Aughton, 234 in Brunton, and 291 in Sunton. 1845 AD The village school was built.
