The Future Tense Posted by Ginny on Feb 28, 2010 in Grammar. We'll be taking about the future tense today. Let's look at the first sentence: 공부할 겁니다 = I will study. The construction ~ 을 / 를 겁니다 is what makes this future tense. 지금 먹을 겁니다 = I will eat now. This is the same construction as before, but This pattern can be used to make future tense sentences. Also, when used for supposition it cannot be used in question form. Verb stems ending with a vowel like 보다, 가다, 자다 are followed by ~ㄹ 거예요. Verb stems ending with a consonant like 먹다, 찾다, 붙다 are followed by ~을 거예요. Verb stems already ending with ㄹ 動詞の語幹の最後にパッチムがあれば 을 거예요 (ヘヨ体)・ 을 겁니다 (ハムニダ体)を付けます。 パッチムと 을 が連音化して発音が変わるので読み方には注意してください。 저쪽으로 가실 겁니다． 読み：チョッチョグロ カシ ル ッコ ム ニダ． 意味：あちら(の方向)に行かれます。 動詞･形容詞(パッチムあり)＋으실 겁니다. 動詞の語幹の最後にパッチムがあれば、"으실 겁니다"を付けます。 마리는 평생 동안 양식 걱정 안 하시도록 해 드릴 겁니다. 말하자면, 초무가 보유하고 있는 수학 능력을 검정해 보는 겁니다. 금년에 받은 석수로 따져서 도지로 내맡길 것 같으면, 누구나 제 수입을 위해서 나농을 할 사람이 없을 겁니다. ≪심훈, 상록수≫ 겁니다 (높임말) 거야 (반말) You may be confused by why there is a space before 거예요 but no space before 게요 (뛰어쓰기).
