Jcorop api destroy rebuild

So I dynamically attach JCrop to an img inside a JQueryUI dialog. I'm trying to use boxWidth and boxHeight to intelligently size the image within. I call jcrop_api.destroy() after use of the dialog is complete. Then, if I open another dialog, the img inside retains the sizing of the first invocation. Can't seem to find any workarounds. Advice?
